Local Services Ads Are Moving Into Google Ads: What to Do Now

Google is moving Local Services Ads into Google Ads. Here is what changes, what you lose, and what to do before your account switches.

Google is moving Local Services Ads, also called LSAs, into Google Ads. Reports from July 2026 say the move began in August 2026 with a small group of U.S. advertisers, and it is set to reach more accounts through 2027. If you run LSAs, Google plans to email you about 14 days before your account switches. The most important thing to do now is save your reports.

What Is Changing

Your LSA campaign will become a Performance Max campaign that still pays per lead. It should keep its same reach, which is Search and Maps without keywords. But how you manage it changes in a few big ways:

  • You can no longer set a manual bid or a maximum cost per lead.
  • Weekly budgets become an average daily budget.
  • One target cost per lead covers the whole campaign, instead of one for each service category.
  • Your business name, address, and hours come from your Google Business Profile.
  • Better Business Bureau callouts are going away, and Google suggests adding other callouts.
  • Your lead inbox moves to Lead Manager inside Google Ads.

What You Lose

The old LSA dashboard goes away after your account moves. Your past performance reports will not move to Google Ads. Your lead history is expected to carry over, but the totals and trends will not.

That matters if you want to compare this year to last year. Download your reports before your switch date. It takes a few minutes now, and you cannot get them back later.

What to Do Now

Start with these steps:

  • Download your LSA performance reports and save them in a safe folder.
  • Check that your Google Business Profile is correct, since it will feed your ads. Our Google Business Profile guide can help.
  • Watch your email for the 14 day notice, and check spam folders too.
  • Plan for daily budgets, and watch your first few weeks closely.
  • Add new callouts to replace any BBB callout you used.

These details come from reports published in July 2026, and Google can change its plans. Check your own account to see when your date is. If you also run search ads, our guide on what Google Ads are may help.

Conclusion

Local Services Ads are moving into Google Ads, with daily budgets, no manual bidding, and no old dashboard. Save your reports, fix your Business Profile, and watch for your email.
